Elinborg - Í Ævir

Emerging Faroese artist Elinborg released her debut album Í Ævir (“Forever”) on 31 October 2025 via Embassy of Music. Sung entirely in her native Faroese, the record delves deep into the emotional landscapes of longing, solitude, and connection — themes that have come to define Elinborg’s darkly poetic universe.

At the heart of the album lies its focus track and namesake, Í Ævir — a hauntingly intimate reflection on distance and desire. Driven by Elinborg’s signature cinematic production, ethereal synths, and emotive vocal delivery, the song unfolds like a dream caught between memory and the North Atlantic winds. “It’s about searching for someone who feels impossibly far away,” Elinborg shares. “Even when you try to reach them, they slip through your hands — like water.”

Building on the sound she introduced with her dark wave singles, Í Ævir expands Elinborg’s sonic palette into a rich blend of ambient pop, electronic minimalism, and Nordic folk atmospheres. Each track weaves together organic textures and electronic elements, evoking the rugged landscapes of the Faroe Islands while tracing a deeply personal emotional journey.

Following her signing with Embassy of Music (home to Björk, Moby, Robyn, and Ásgeir), and management by FlyingFox AB, Elinborg continues to assert herself as one of the most distinctive new voices in the Nordic scene. Her poetic lyricism, sung in Faroese, bridges the ancient and the modern — a rare language carried through a futuristic sonic world.

With Í Ævir, Elinborg invites listeners to lose themselves in the tides of sound and emotion — a meditation on time, memory, and the eternal pull of home.
